The Cake People Story

The Cake People story started back in 2014, when our owner-operators Joanne and Stephen both shared a vision for beautiful, delicious cakes and the joy they bring to every celebration.

From day one, we’ve strived to show that plant-based cakes can be just as delicious, indulgent, and magical as the real thing. Today, we’ve supplied beautiful cakes for thousands of celebrations across the city.

In addition to taking home awards in the Baking Association of Australia's Victorian Baking Show, our proudest moments come in the joy that comes with supplying personalised cakes that our customers remember, love and treasure.

Edible-image cakes are our most popular style. This is a Barbie-themed design printed in the same glamour and fashion-doll styling, which suits a princess party just as well.

If you want something a little different, we offer everything from Bluey cakes to Hot Wheels cakes, and so much more.

Options for every occasion

Our Barbie cakes come in two finishes, as well as a 3D option for the full showpiece:

• Naked cake finish with white buttercream – edible image cake at $65
• Fully covered colour version – edible image cake at $98
• 3D character cakes with printed cutout elements

The naked finish keeps things light and modern, while the fully covered version carries the pink right around the cake. Pick what suits, upload an image, and we’ll make it magical.

Plant-based Barbie Cakes: Made in Melbourne

Every Barbie cake we make is 100% plant-based. We also offer a variety of options to suit anyone with food allergies or dietary concerns. This means your Barbie cake will be both egg and dairy-free. Please note: our cakes are made in a kitchen that handles nuts and may contain traces. However, we can use nut-free and soy-free based recipes if there’s an allergy.
