Every kid wants the cake covered in lollies. Not every parent wants what usually comes with it. Our Lollipop Cake is the answer to both — a bright, joyful, properly celebratory cake with no added sugar anywhere in it, sponge or topping.

We've applied the same techniques that earned us Gold, Silver, and Bronze at the 2026 BAA Victorian Baking Show — competing against every bakery in Victoria, for the third consecutive year. This is a party cake first and a low sugar cake second, which is exactly the right way round.

About This Cake

A celebration cake finished in smooth buttercream and crowned with a generous scatter of FUNDAY lollipops in four flavours — strawberry & cream, pineapple, sour apple and cola. The lollipops are themselves no added sugar, sweetened with stevia leaf rather than sugar or sugar alcohols. Every element is considered, right down to the colours.

Important Information Before You Order

This cake is sweetened with xylitol instead of sugar. Please read the following carefully, and share it with anyone serving the cake.

• Smaller portions for children. Xylitol can have a laxative effect in larger servings, and children need less than adults. We recommend a modest slice for younger guests, and one slice per person to start with for everyone.
• Keep away from pets. Xylitol is highly toxic to dogs and can be fatal even in small amounts. Please store, serve, and dispose of this cake securely, well away from animals — including any lollipops left on plates.
• Choking hazard. The lollipops are not suitable for children under 3, and the paper sticks can detach. Please remove them before serving to small children and supervise throughout.
• Contains almonds. Both sponge options are made with almond meal. Not suitable for anyone with a nut allergy.
• Contains gluten. Both sponge options are made with wheat flour and are not suitable for coeliacs or anyone avoiding gluten.

Is this cake sugar-free?

We describe it as no added sugar rather than sugar-free, and we think that honesty matters. No sugar is added at any stage — the sponge is sweetened with xylitol and the lollipops with stevia leaf. The small amount of naturally occurring sugar it contains comes from the almond meal and the lollipops themselves. Plenty of cakes labelled "sugar-free" are in exactly the same position; we'd simply rather tell you.

Are the lollipops sugar-free too?

The lollipops are FUNDAY, an Australian brand. They contain no added sugar, no sugar alcohols and no artificial colours — just prebiotic fibre, natural flavours and a touch of stevia leaf.

Does it contain nuts?

Yes — both the chocolate and the orange almond sponge are made with almond meal. Not suitable for anyone with a nut allergy.

Is it gluten free?

No. Both sponge options are made with wheat flour and are not suitable for coeliacs.
