Sustainability

At The Compassionate Kitchen we focus on 3 key areas for sustainability:

  • REDUCE ENERGY USE

  • REDUCE WASTE

  • REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINT

REDUCE ENERGY USE
One of the ways we reduce both energy use and waste is by utilising “bake-in” packaging. This revolutionary product allows us to bake our banana loaves and café slices in the packaging that we can deliver it to our customers in. After our customers are finished with the product it can be flat-packed and recycled. We have also had our packaging for all 6 packs custom made in a unique rectangle box that's compostable, recyclable and biodegradable.

REDUCE WASTE
Our production methods that we have  developed are precise and accurate and we have the latest technology from pneumatic depositor, silicone moulds to blast chiller, that minimise wastage, increase consistency and quality and reduce energy & material consumption.

REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINT
In comparison to meat and dairy, plant-based foods have much smaller carbon footprints. On average, emissions from plant-based foods are 10 to 50 times smaller than those from animal products. Our entire range is plant-based and therefore massively reducing our carbon footprint.
